2025 NORWICH YMCA 3-4 yr. Old Outdoor Soccer

REGISTRATION INFORMATION:

 Individuals can register until September 7

   The fee is ($40.00) dollars per member, and ($75.00) dollars per non-member.

 OUTDOOR SOCCER INFORMATION:

 This program is for boys and girls ages Three and Four. 

 This class is instructional only.

 The basic fundamentals of Soccer will be taught:

(Passing, Kicking, Trapping, Throw-ins, Positions, Teamwork, Sportsmanship and the importance of having fun). 

 Dates of play will be on Tuesday Sept 16, 23, 30   October 7, 14, 21

Practice times will be from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Weiler Park. There will only be one practice per week, with no scheduled games, except for scrimmage games.

 The season will last 6 weeks.  Thus concluding on Tuesday October 21

2025 NORWICH YMCA FIVE/SIX YEAR OLD OUTDOOR SOCCER

The fee is ($40.00) dollars per member.

OUTDOOR SOCCER INFORMATION:

           This program is for boys and girls ages five and six,

            This class is instructional only.

            The basic fundamentals of soccer will be taught

            (Passing, dribbling, shooting, basic rules, fair play, teamwork,

            Sportsmanship, and the importance of having fun). 

 Dates of play will be September 17,24 October  8, 15, 22, 29

 Practice times will be from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Weiler Park. There will only be one practice per week, with no scheduled games, except for scrimmage games.

 The season will last 6 weeks.  Thus concluding on Tuesday Oct 29

The Norwich Family YMCA announces try-outs for Boys Travel Basketball Team

2024-2025

This league is for boys in 3rd, 4^th, 5^th, and 6^th grade.    The intent of this program is to develop team’s who will compete at a competitive level that is higher than the regular YMCA recreation league and against other schools in the travel programs.  The object is to form 3 teams that will pay in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grade divisions of the league we play in.  Players for these will be chosen based on skill level, general knowledge of the game and basketball ability.   Teams will be formed competitively based on basketball ability and not based on grade level.   There will be an elite team ((6th grade division), a Competitive team (5th grade division) and a Developing team(4th grade division).   Grade level will not be considered when forming these teams, only ability level and aptitude to play on the level of the team.

YOU MUST REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS AT THE YMCA FRONT DESK

Teams will learn more of the fundamentals of basketball, along with team play and sportsmanship in a more structured and competitive setting.  Teams will have home games and away games with areas such as Vestal, Chenango Forks, Greene, Oneonta, Chenango Valley, and Endicott.

All boys in grades 4-6 and below are welcome to try out.

Dates and times are as follows:

October 23rd,2024                             6:30 -8 p.m.                Court 1 and 2

October 25th, 2024                              6:30-8 p.m.                 Court 1 and 2

NOTE: If your child happens to make one of the teams, please be advised that there is a considerable amount of traveling that takes place, your child must be a member of the YMCA and there will be a fee $100.00 per player.  Financial assistance will be available.   Ask the front desk for the paperwork.

If your child does not make one of the teams but still wants to play basketball, sign up for the YMCA Recreation League.
